Wade Center partners with state department of education to feed students

The Wade Center will be partnering with the WV Department of Education to help fill the bellies for local children this summer. RILEY Any student of the ages 18 and under will be able to come to their location and eat for free this coming summer. Since the center is considered an At-Risk facility, the area of Bluefield is 50 percent more in need so they are able to serve any student regardless of their family’s income. SOT COURTNEY NEAL EXEC. DIR. The program is part of our vacation bible school summer program we do every year. Our program runs seven weeks. The only week that we’re not in service and not doing meals is the week of the 4th of July. We have to shut down for that week and reset. But any student is able to come in and utilize the feeding program regardless of being enrolled in the program.
