  1. My high school valedictorian did something like this but also slammed us and basically called us dumb without directly calling us dumb
    No one clapped

  2. Some teachers are useless, one of my 9th grade teachers flipped out on her class screaming that non of us were going to amount to anything and freaked out. Also the complain with how much they make and work less than a half of year. I understand their importance but i think they do not.

  3. to give a good graduation speech you're supposed to quote a song like "don't stop believing" or "get this party started".

  4. "It's unfortunate that the words of a student like this are taking away from the positive."

Spoken just like a school where the graduation ceremony is always rigged to glorify their usually unearned gold stars, and never rigged to acknowledge their students.

  5. I went to a high school in the same district. They screwed up my paperwork and claimed I did not have enough credits to graduate. Turned out, they were wrong set me back a year and ruined my chances at going to university, I had to go to community college first. All the Sweetwater district staff are corrupt and NEVER cared about the students. They have been found to be corrupt many times over.

  6. God i wish i would be chosen for valedictorian so I can do this… My school is just trash but it's the only better school out of the other ones in my county. This woman is brave.

  7. I was prepared to write about how disrespectful that is, but honestly, she made a good point. I remember in high school how utterly useless people like guidance counselors and some of my teachers were. How completely unhelpful and at times discouraging they were of anything I approached them with for help. Of course some teachers were great, but the ones that aren't should be fired. Teacher tenure and unions were a huge problem in my district that basically allowed awful teachers to stay in their positions no matter what. I went to college without knowing subjects like Calculus despite having taken the course and earned an A.

  8. Manuel Rubic comments at the end about taking away from the positive makes me so frustrated and angry. It shows that they don’t care about the state of the school or the affect they have on the students.

  9. the only problem i have with this girl is that she reads all of this like it’s a bored and tired TV script, despite having supposedly written it herself. they’re your words, so at least TRY to make it sound more interesting than just words on paper. almost EVERYONE does this while reading speeches and it irritates me WAY more than it should 🤬

  10. In my school the only thing we have is 10 teachers around 250 students and a demolished school. I am not bitchy about it tho…
