The US Department of State’s Bureau of
Educational and Cultural Affairs builds relations between Americans and the
people of other countries through academic, cultural, sports, professional,
and private exchanges, as well as public-private partnerships and cultural
heritage preservation programs all of which are aimed at advancing America’s
global competitiveness. The Bureau supports more than 300,000 exchanges
each year including students and professionals to the United States and
