My name is Kana Miyazawa. I’m from Japan. I’m currently studying year 12 at Robina State High School. I chose to come to Queensland because
of the warm weather. I chose Robina State High School because of the Japanese Immersion Program. I do Arts as one of my OP subjects, and I love it because I get to do art classes three times a week, which is very intense and very good. Our teachers at school are very friendly and they are very encouraging as well. If you ask questions to the teachers, they answer you very nicely. Also, they have many tutorials which we can attend every day, so you get to learn a lot
of things even out of classes. In our Art classes, we get to showcase our artworks to the community, we get to write artist statements, which we don’t get to write in Japan. After completing Arts at Robina SHS, I’m planning to go to the University of Queensland to study Arts. My homestay is very nice and welcoming family. I have a host sister who’s from Brazil. They bring us to many different places. If exchange students like me are coming here to study English, I’d recommend them to come to Robina SHS because they have very good subjects and there are also nice, friendly teachers here.
