St. Louis City Board of Education: Swearing-In Ceremony


We are joined this evening by the honorable Thomas Clark, Associate Circuit Judge, recently elevated to Circuit Judge of the City of St. Louis. And he will now give the Oath of Office to our three members. If all of you could please raise your right hand and repeat after me… I {state your name please} before entering upon my duties as a Member of the Board of Education of the City of St. Louis, Missouri do hereby swear that I possess all of the qualifications for said office required by the statutes of the state of Missouri that I will not while serving as a Member of such Board become interested in any contract or claim against the Board directly or indirectly or as agent or employee of any individual firm or corporation which is so interested that I will not be influenced during my term of office by any consideration except that of merit and fitness in the appointment of officers and engagement of employees that I support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Missouri and that I demean myself faithfully in my office as a Member of the Board of Education of the City of St. Louis, Missouri. Congratulations. {applause}
