  1. Question: why does some of the functions that appear colored as red on your PopSQL (like SUM or AVG) often appear to me with the other color of every other SQL text?

  10. Can you give me answer of following question

    1.Write a PL/SQL block to find the maximum number between the three numbers using %type.

    2.Write a PL/SQL block to check whether the given number is palindrome or not using %row type.

  11. Hey great tutorial. I just found a little inconsistency (no big deal) in the video and in the code.
    Should be select COUNT(emp_id) from employee where sex = 'F' and birth_day > '1970-01-01';
    not birth_date.

  12. how do u add the column in your desired postion. I added another column as u showed but it wasnt where i wanted it to be

  13. I just finished the course 10 minutes ago and it took about about 2 weeks to complete it all.

    I have to say, I feel extremely grateful. The moment I left my pen finishing my notes as Mike closed the tutorial, felt amazing. I believe I built very strong foundation to take the next leap ahead. The course was great, it covered lots of details and if I still had a question, it was so small that a simple Google search or just experimenting was enough to solve it.

    Now as Mike already said, it is a beginners course, which is fine. I feel more than ready to tackle more advanced stuff and I cannot wait to do so in the next few weeks. I feel ready to apply my new SQL knowledge in my favourite languages and take my game a step further.

    I also saw that Mike has lots of other tutorials as well. Something tells me that I will learn more from him soon.
    Thank you so much for creating this course for free and for actually investing your valuable time to teach us.

  21. colleges really be charging $500+ for beginner DBMS classes and it takes 4 months to learn where as this guy does it for free and under 5 hours.

  22. Best succinct and complete tutorial about SQL .Gave me the theoretical definitions in a simple way. Keep up with the good work.

  23. A slight mistake was made in 1:42:49, The reason it is a syntax error is because you put the chemistry major in double quotations and not single quotations. Chemistry should have been 'Chemistry' but you made it "Chemistry". Once you fix that mistake you will get the correct error which say "Column name cannot be null".

  24. Best tutorial ever. I have understood everything I need for my module work for tommorow within 4 hours..
    Such a comprehensive explanation, a lot of useful examples, not just learning syntaxes. Great job, man

  25. the exercise at 3:16:00 why did you go for an newsted query ? I tried to do the same using an join and got the exact result.

    SELECT distinct employee.first_name, employee.last_name
    FROM works_with
    inner join employee
    on works_with.emp_id = employee.emp_id
    WHERE works_with.total_sales > 30000;

    Which solution would be the best here? I feel like the smaller and more readable the querrie the better.
    But which does useally get prefered ?
