Sports: City of Windsor Community Videos 2015

Whether you’re looking to enjoy recreational
sports, something more competitive, or you’re just a fan, Windsor has a vast array of options
for you and your entire family to enjoy. From swimming to gymnastics, hockey to baseball,
or football to soccer, Windsor has you covered. Our facilities are world-class. The WFCU Centre
is home to the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires, back to back champions of the 2009 & 2010 Memorial
Cup. The centre’s community rinks play host to a variety of ice sports, and will be the
host of 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships. Windsor has many other sport-related venues,
arenas and recreation parks located in neighbourhoods throughout the city. The Windsor International Aquatic Training
Centre is an Olympic-style facility with a 10-lane, fifty metre plus pool that features
a 10m diving platform, two moveable bulkheads and a moveable floor that allow for multiple
configurations to fit any competition or community use. It has been the home of the FINA World
Diving Championships, and the International Children’s Games. At the collegiate level, top-notch athletics
are offered at the Lancer Stadium – home of the University of Windsor Lancers, the Pam
American Junior Athletic Championships and the Canadian Olympic Track and Field Trials.
The Sportsplex at St. Clair College is home to the St. Clair Saints and is truly a world-class
athletic facility. If the excitement of sports moves you, Windsor
is the ideal place to be.
