Minnesota Department of Education gets approval for Every Student Succeeds Act


Changes are coming to how Minnesota school district performances will be judged by the state’s Department of Education. The state has received
federal approval to start Minnesota’s Every Student Succeeds Act. replacing No Child Left Behind. The Act aims to address the state’s achievement gap through annual testing. accountability. and public input. Additional strategies will be used to help low-performing and high-poverty schools. It will take effect next school year.
