  1. Yes I’m willing to take the my dad was in the US Marines Sergean. And he always wanted to make sure I took shorthand yup definitely.

  2. Pitman is not a good system. What's the point of learning a complicated system of vowel dots and dashes, and where they all go, in the outline — only to be told that, if you want to attain any kind of speed, you have to LEAVE THEM ALL OUT? It's not a REAL shorthand system when you just have to hope you'll be able to read what you've written just from the consonant outine alone. Sure there are many words that can be recognized from the consonants alone — but there are hundreds that cannot, such as:

    poor/pure, appetite/potato, operation/portion, patient/passionate, prosecute/persecute, patron/pattern, abandoned/abundant, prosper/perspire, daughter/auditor, debtor/editor, support/separate, adultery/idolatry, oppressor/pursuer/peruser — and HUNDREDS MORE like those.

I started to learn Pitman, but switched to Gregg, where the vowels are written properly, right in the outline. Claims that Pitman is "faster" are dishonest when they just leave out all the vowels. In a shorthand speed contest, Charles Lee Swem wrote Gregg at 280 words per minute with 99.36% accuracy. That's plenty fast enough for me……

  3. Thank u sooo much….. Today I started learning shorthand…With the help of you and your channel….. Thanks dear…Tc🙂

  5. My main concern with Pitman is too much emphasis on Dark and Light curves, its not the pencil fault if it cant be too dark or too light, and its not possible to use 2 different shades of Pencil for each and every words. it will hamper the speed, any suggestion?

  6. Hello there ive recently come to own a letter that belonged to a WW2 German soldier in a tank division! However… its written in what appears to be some kind of German shorthand?
