Korea is known for its high education fever,
but it may be pressuring children too much. A report released by the Korea Institute for
Health and Social Affairs on Wednesday measuring Korean children′s stress related to education
shows that Korean children have a stress level of 50-point-five percent.
The index takes elements such as children′s′ preschool enrollment and education achievements
into account and a higher reading indicates that kids are stressed over education.
Korean children also had the highest stress levels among the 29 countries surveyed by
UNICEF in 2013. Spain, Slovenia and Portugal were the next
highest on the list.
