International Education Week Video – Lara Kasbari

——- Hello from Bethlehem Palestine my name is Lara Kasbari and i’m currently a third-year student in the business faculty at Bethlehem University and I’m a TechGirl from 2012. TechGirls is more than just an exchange program. It is a life-changing experience. Not only it has empowered me as a woman, it gave me a new perspective. It made me realize how powerful an individual can be. After coming back from the US and meeting such amazing, inspiring people, I was determined to contribute to my society. So I set up a volunteering project and moved on to participate into different programs that benefit my society; such as holding public debates to raise awareness, and yes, I am capable, yes I can make a change. Becoming an exchange student means being inspired and passing that inspiration to others. It also allowed me to meet people from different cultures and different backgrounds appreciating diversity that colors our world. Exchange programs are the path to a new independent and confident you. So why participate in an exchange program or even host an exchange student?t Because it’s one step closer in making a positive local impact and a global change and one step closer in making the world a better smaller place.
