End of the School Year Video 2016

Greetings from the Pennsylvania Department
of Education! I’m Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera and I’d like to offer my congratulations
to students and staff on another successful school year. As the end of this year approaches,
you all should look back on your achievements with pride. Students: You showed up each morning ready
to learn and ready to achieve. Your performance in the classroom is a direct result of the
efforts you put in every day, and your dedication to academics will serve you well as you continue
your educational pursuits. Stay engaged, stay focused, and above all, have fun with learning. Teachers: Thank you for your commitment to
the students in your classroom. Your knowledge and expertise in the field allow students
to not only achieve but flourish. Studies have shown that effective teachers have the greatest impact
on the success of students. Keep up the great work and know that the Governor and The Department
of Education appreciate your efforts. Finally, to the staff and administrators,
from bus drivers to maintenance workers and cafeteria staff, school resource officers, classroom aides, administrative
assistants, and all the employees at school: thank you for making your school a
welcoming place for students, their families, and community members. Your efforts make a
difference each day, providing a safe and healthy atmosphere conducive to learning. PDE thanks you all for your commitment to
community and your dedication to the pursuit of learning. Congratulations on “closing
the books” on another school year, and on behalf of the entire Department of Education,
have a healthy, safe and enjoyable summer!
