Educational & Safe Baby Toys : Baby Toys to Develop Hand-Eye Coordination

Hi, this is Daniella Buettner with the Right
Start in Sherman Oaks on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip we’ll be talking about
manipulative toys. Manipulative toys are the toys that help the child learn eye hand coordination.
They help the child develop the muscles in the face, hands, eyes and mouth to be able
to learn how to grasp and pinch items and just drop them. So it’s about the cause and
effect. We have several different items for this. This is a barn shape sorter, this is
extreme well partly because children just love farm animals so naturally they love the
pig and the cow and the chicken and the lamb. You’re able to put the letters through the
sorter as well as match up the shapes. And there’s also other activities on the side
in which the children can play with it. Another favorite item is the rolly pop starter. This
is great for children who are very young when they first can grasp a ball and be able to
drop it and see the cause and effect of dropping the ball and having it rolled down to the
bottom. This is fun for children because they love to do it over and over again, competitive
and it’s very entertaining.
Another great toy when a child is able to grasp a handle and be able to hit something
is the pound and play. You’re able to knock the balls through the hole and they roll through
the bottom. And this is another toy children love to play over and over again. When you’re
done, you put the balls right back in and you start right over.
