EVENTS ARE NOW ON. AN UNEXPECTED DAY OFF FROM
SCHOOL TOOK THEM OUTDOORS FOR
SOME FOOTBALL. JOHN DAVIS IS A FIFTH-GRADER AND
SAYS HIS MOTHER TOLD HIM
YESTERDAY ABOUT WILL BE ENCLOSED
TODAY.>>SHE SAID WE DO NOT HAVE
SCHOOL BECAUSE A KID GOT VERY
SICK. KARIN: THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT
CONTACTED THEM YESTERDAY SAYING
A SEVEN MILES DIDN’T HAD A
SUSPECTED CASE OF E. COLI.>>WITH THERE BEING THE
POTENTIAL, I FEEL LIKE THEY WENT
ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT THEY
NEEDED TO DO. KARIN: NOT ONLY DID THEY CLOSE
SEVEN MILE ELEMENTARY, BUT THEY
DECIDED TO CANCEL CLASSES AT ALL
OF THEIR BUILDING.>>THE INDIVIDUAL WHO
POTENTIALLY WAS DIAGNOSED AND
THE OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, AND
WHERE THOSE STUDENTS MAY HAVE
BEEN THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT, SO
WE THOUGHT IT WAS PRECAUTIONARY TO TAKE THOSE STEPS. KARIN: THEY SPENT TWO DAYS
DISINFECTING AND SANITIZING. THEY PARTNERED WITH THE HEALTH
DEPARTMENT TO MAKE SURE
EFFECTIVE STEPS WERE TAKEN.>>ONE OF THE CUSTODIANS SAID
THEY HAD BEEN CLEANING SINCE
THEY FOUND OUT. THEY ARE TAKING THAT EXTRA
PRECAUTION AND THEY ARE ALWAYS
ON TOP OF EVERYTHING. KARIN: THIS EXTRA DAY OFF GAME
— GAVE HIM MORE TIME TO BE ON
TOP OF HIS GAME. NO ADDITIONAL CASES OF E. COLI
