It is a dream job for me. I’m really happy that I chose
educational psychology as a career. We’re intervening with young people
to make a difference in their lives. As educational psychologists
we support people working with children who are struggling with learning and, or, behaviour. Children’s behaviour is so much
more complex than it used to be. We gain people’s confidence
because we’re prepared to listen. I spend at least three quarters of my week
visiting families, or schools. One has to be a humanitarian. It is challenging.
I really enjoy problem solving. There’s a lot of support around me. You don’t work alone.
What I do is important. It is really rewarding.
I find it very humbling. I feel I add value to society.
