A HERO FROM THE WORLD OF BOOKS NAMED HARRIET ANN JACOBS. HARRIET ANN JACOBS WAS BORN FEBRUARY
11TH IN 1813 AND WAS BEST KNOWN FOR BEING A WRITER WHO HAD ESCAPED FROM SLAVERY TO BECOME
WHAT THEY CALL AN ABOLITIONIST. HARRIET ALSO LIVED FOR 7 YEARS IN IN HER GRANDMA’S ATTIC
BEFORE ESCAPING TO THE NORTH BY BOAT TO PHILADELPHIA AND BEING FREED FROM SLAVERY. LATER IN EIGHTEEN
SIXTY ONE JACOBS HAD HER ONLY BOOK INCIDENTS IN THE LIFE OF A SLAVE GIRL PUBLISHED AS AN
AFRICAN AMERICAN AUTHOR BUT SHE USED HER PEN NAME LINDA BRENT. HARRIET AN JACOBS LIVED
TO BE EIGHTY FOUR YEARS OLD AND IS A TRUE AFRICAN AMERICAN HERO.
