Basic Multiplication | #aumsum

Basic Multiplication. Let us try to multiply 2 and 3. There are 3 groups. 1, 2, 3. There are 3 groups of 2 boxes each. Let us add these boxes. 2 plus 2 plus 2 is equal to 6. Adding 2 three times, we get 2 into 3. Thus 2 into 3 is equal to 6. Hence, adding the same number again and again means we are multiplying. Sign of multiplication is X. This is all your fault. Let us take another example. There are 5 groups of 3 bees each. How many bees are there in all? 3 plus 3 is 6. 3 plus 3 plus 3 is 9. 3 plus 3 plus 3 plus 3 is 12. 3 plus 3 plus 3 plus 3 plus 3 is 15. So, adding 3 five times we get 15. Thus, 3 into 5 is equal to 15. Hence, multiplication is also known as repeated addition. The End.
