3 IMPRESSIVE Drum Beats (Try These!) – Drum Lesson | Drum Beats Online

in today's lesson you were gonna walk away by knowing three super impressive drum beats so let's jump into it hello my beautiful friends my name is Gabe el Guerra from drum beats online.com a website that helps you become a better drummer now let's be honest the reason we play drums is not to impress people however every once in a while you might be put in a situation where you might want a few beats in your back pocket to be able to pull out to really impress everyone now the issue is nowadays it is really hard to impress people I could literally clone myself and snap my fingers and changes shirt color and it wouldn't be impressive it was weird but don't worry I've got you covered today I'm going to teach you three incredible beats that will impress at least your cat so let's start things off with the simplest but still impressive beat and build our way up from there so this first beat is just played in 4/4 time and it's one measure long we do a little bit of combining of sixteenth notes and thirty-second notes but don't let that scare you too much so the way we are gonna play this beat is by playing an open hi-hat with our right hand along with the kick drum then we are going to have a left left ghost noted on the snare drum then another kick drum then we move into a short 32nd note period where we play right right left left on the hi-hat then that leads right into our right hand hitting the bell of the ride and then a nice strong snare drum with our left hand then we are gonna play a kick drum left hand on the rack Tom right hand on the floor tom left hand on the closed hi-hat then to finish it off we are going to hit the open hi-hat with our right hand and the kick drum and then another strong note with our left hand on the snare drum this beat has a really cool and unique feel to it and I think those thirty-second note doubles on the hi-hat leading into that Belva ride sounds really cool then going into the toms it all just sounds really awesome and looks pretty impressive so let's hear what this beat sounds like at some slow tempos and then we'll try to speed it up from there check it out all right now are you ready to push the impressive meter up just a little bit because this beat is awesome this beat is also in 4/4 time and it's also one measure long but this one is simply sixteenth notes the whole time now what becomes pretty impressive about this beat is the visual aspect to it and we will get to that but first let's break it down and see what needs to be played so the way we are gonna play this beat is an open hi-hat on our right hand along with the kick drum and then underneath we hit a left left on the floor Tom creating a really cool crossover pattern then we are going to hit a kick kick and then bring our left hand over to the closed hi-hat and then hit a left left on the closed hi-hat then we have a right hand on the floor Tom a left hand on the snare drum and a kick into the repeating pattern of right hand on the bell of the ride left hand on the hi-hat kick and then we do that again right hand on the bell the ride hi-hat kick now this beat has a really cool halftime feel because we are placing that snare drum accent on beat three but like I said it has a really cool visual aspect that we will get to right now during that crossover in the very beginning when we are hitting the open hi-hat with our right hand what I want us to do is do a little stick trick like that so we're simply tossing the stick up with our right hand because our left hand is coming underneath and doing a lot of the work so our right hand has some time to do a cool stick trick if you want to learn the exact stick trick that I'm doing it's called the toss and it's part of one of my old videos on stick tricks that you can watch right here but now let's hear what this beat sounds like at a few different tempos check it out all right through this third beat we've got a really awesome Tom beat in the snare lands on two and four every time so it really feels like a standard groove now this beat is also in 4/4 time signature it is one measure long and it is played in sixteenth notes so now let's play it I'm sick guys I'm doing my best so the way we are going to play this beat is by starting off playing a right-handed paradiddle between our floor tom and our right foot so that is simply going to be right hand on the floor Tom kick right right both on the floor tom then we are gonna have a left hand on the snare drum a kick drum right hand on the closed hi-hat left right on the floor tom and then a left hand on the hi-hat creating a really cool crossover pattern then we have a kick drum in two right hand on the rack Tom left hand on the snare drum kick and then right hand on the bell the ride and then left hand on the open hi-hat I love the way that this beat incorporates a lot of the Tom's including a really cool crossover fill between the floor tom and the hi-hat while maintaining a standard two and four on the snare drum so now let's put it all together and hear it at a slow tempo and moving it up into a fast tempo check it out if you're looking to continually step up your impressive beats and fills I would highly encourage you to head over to drum beats online.com here you can check out some of the free lessons there depending on what you are looking to improve or if
